It doesn't mean that we do not love our native country but that we are in love with the world and life. We desire to become "Global Citizens." It cost $400.00 (As of the time of this writing) to file an "Expression of Interest" This is equivalent to submitting a resume on Career Builder in America. Afterwords employers may or may not make an offer. I have sent a few questions to the NZ government. I learned that they have a couple of unique classes within their counseling program that is unique to New Zealand. These two courses relate to the Maori Treaties between New Zealand and their Natives. It sounds very similar to our treaties with our American Indians. One may become a permanent citizen in New Zealand with the right to vote without giving up prior citizenship. This was great news because I could and would never give up my American citizenship even if I decided to live permanently in another country. We will store links and photos here. I read on the government web site that the dollar goes much further in NZ than it does in the States. A Professor from California now residing in NZ also confirmed it. He said, "It's much easier to get a house on the beach in New Zealand than it is in America." A Professor with a house on the beach. Hmmm. Doesn't happen very often for American Professors. He also added that he didn't want to have to buy his kids hand guns. Apparently, crime is very low in NZ. This makes sense considering that there are less than 4 million inhabitants and much more personal space available. Research has also proven that countries that do not have the death penalty have lower crime rates and of course, NZ does not have the death penalty. I hope that the crime rate doesn't rise by the time that we possibly arrive. 1. Your partner and dependent children(if any) may be included in your EOI application. Did you know that English is NOT the Official Language in The United States of America? We are undeclared and only 28 States have "English" as the official language in their State Constitution. New Zealand (Much like Canada) boasts a "Bilingual Official Language" Actually, English is the declared Business language. According to the last Census, only 4% non-Maori people actually are bilingual English/Maori. However, a growing number of NZ natives are bilingual. New Zealand does teach the Maori language in the lower grades for all students. Declaring an official language in the U.S.A. is hotly debated. In my opinion, we are in fact, a Bilingual Nation English/Spanish whether it's officially declared or not. Please note: A small dash (-) is supposed to reside over the "a" in the Maori Language. Unfortunately, this web site program goes haywire when I try to include it here.
