Education is a progressive discovery of our own ignorance.

“There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening, that is translated through you into action and because there is only one of you in all of time, this expression is unique. And if you 'block' it, it will never exist throughout any medium and be lost. The world will not have it!”
-- Martha Graham

"We live in extraordinarily frightening and dangerous times. We need innovative solutions to the social, cultural and political issues that face us. We as drama therapists have powerful tools and with these tools, we have the ability to create intimacy, empathy, community and resourcefulness in realms that most people would consider hopeless. I believe, as Jacob Moreno did about Psychodrama, that drama therapy has the ability to transform society itself. We, as healers, are the resistance fighters of our time parachuting behind the lines to fight against violence, hatred, dehumanization and alienation in our society. I encourage you to take action, even in the face of overwhelming odds! Find the courage to create your vision of a better world!" Armand-Volkas- http://www.livingartscenter.org/

“The task of therapy is not to eliminate suffering but to give a voice to it, to find a form in which it can be expressed. Expression is itself transformation; this is the message that art brings. The therapist then would be an artist of the soul, working with sufferers to enable them to find the proper container for their pain, the form in which it would be embodied.” - Stephen K. Levine

"Expressive art therapy integrates all of the arts in a safe, non-judgmental setting to facilitate personal growth and healing. To use the arts expressively means going into our inner realms to discover feelings and to express them through visual art, movement, sound, writing or drama. This process fosters release, self-understanding, insight and awakens creativity and transpersonal states of consciousness."
- Natalie Rogers
“The arts, as media of the imagination, are disciplines which give form and substance to our capacity to be who we are. Each artistic medium embodies the imagination in a concrete and specific way.”

"In former times, acting simply meant putting on a disguise. . . Now it’s clear that the wearing of the disguise changes the person. As he takes the disguise off, his face is changed from having worn it. The stage performance informs the life performance and is informed by it."

Creative way to lose weight: Just wanted to share this for those that struggle with weight. A friend at Curves shared this story. She read a newspaper article a few years back. A man bought a house from the 1920's. When he moved in he realized that his dishes were too big for the cupboards. He went and bought smaller plates. By the end of the year he had lost a lot of weight enough to become newsworthy. The moral of this story is to go buy a house from the 1920's. I'm already searching for a motor-home or tent from that era;-)

The following is more of a poem than a quote but it's worth the read.
You are Creative: "We are all creative and we are all artists whether we are viewing art or making it. We are open systems evolving at the edge of chaos in resonance with each other in our everyday lives.
Our artists are our helpmates, bringing us images, metaphors, and meanings that speak to our depths, and call forth new visions.
We see worlds unimagined and hope at last for this one.
We find understanding and beauty and the bridging of conflict and distance which heralds our deeper self.
We are transformed in turn and we spread the vision through our own unique expressions be they in conversation or painting. Our museums serve as nerve centers humming with life and concentrating the streams of this evolving mind while mixing in the bright new colors of the viewer, OF YOU." R. Richards

"The key question isn't "What fosters creativity?" But it is why in God's name isn't everyone creative? Where was the human potential lost? How was it crippled?
