Tell your story

Writer/Publisher/documentary producer at Bridgeross Communications

by Marvin Ross
(Dundas, ON, Canada)

Thanks to Stacey for inviting me to post my material. I am a medical writer and author of the book Schizophrenia Medicine's Mystery Society's Shame which, I'm pleased to say has received many good reviews.

I also publish a book called After Her Brain Broke: Helping My Daughter Recover Her Sanity which is getting even better reviews than my own. A highly poignant memoir of a family's struggles with their daughter's schizoaffective disorder recommended by Dr. E Fuller Torrey, and sold out at the NAMI conference bookstore.

In late September, I'm bringing out My Schizophrenic Life: The Road to Recovery From Mental Illness by a woman who has schizophrenia and incredible insight into describing its onset and her struggles.

I've just produced a documentary film called The Brush, The Pen and Recovery about an art program for people with schizophrenia. The 33 minute film is showing at a weekly mental health film night in Victoria BC on August 9, will be shown at the Canadian Psychiatric Association Conference in Toronto and is available from Moving Images Film Distribution.
